July 3 to July 18,School of Electrical Engineering successfully held the 2023 summer school overseas teacher course,The college invited Thomas Hamacher from the Technical University of Munich, Germany,Professor Vedran Peric,Vladimir Terzija, Newcastle University, UK, Milutin Jovanovic, Professor Victor Levi,Professor Kai Strunz from TU Berlin,Professor Gilbert Teyssedre from the Laplace Laboratory of the University of Toulouse in France and Associate Professor Igor Timoshkin from the University of Strathclyde in the UK gave lectures。Whole School (Jinan、Qingdao、Three campuses in Weihai) including the School of Electrical Engineering、School of Energy and Power、Mathematics Academy、385 undergraduate students from 33 colleges including the School of Physics studied this all-English course。
This summer school overseas teacher course includes two courses,Respectively, Future Low-Carbon Energy Systems (Chinese course name: Future Low-Carbon Energy Systems) and Renewable Power Generation and Operation, High Voltage and Insulation Technology (Chinese course name: New energy power generation operation and high voltage and insulation technology)。
Future Low-Carbon Energy Systems course teaches variable speed motor control、Wind power generation system、Future distribution network and smart solutions、Integrated energy system state estimation、Network topology optimization based on transient stability、Data-driven solutions for future sustainable and resilient energy systems、Smart FM、Voltage instability and its detection and mitigation methods、Prevention of cascading events and power system outages、Digitalization - background knowledge and key technologies related to future low-carbon energy systems such as leading the revolution of low-carbon economy,And shared academic research experience and writing skills for academic journals and conference papers。
Renewable Power Generation and Operation, High Voltage and Insulation Technology course introduces wind energy、Solar energy、Hydropower and other new energy power generation technologies;Power transmission in power systems、Knowledge of energy storage and management;Details the basics of polymer insulation physics,Explaining the failure mechanism of insulating materials through partial discharge and electrical tree behavior,Analyze the electrical properties of insulating materials by introducing their microscopic properties,Looking for nano-doping modification technology for new electrical insulation materials;Telling about the important role played by high voltage technology and pulse power technology in solving energy problems。
Students gain an in-depth understanding of the principles of new energy through learning classroom theory、Applications and future development directions,And deepen the understanding of high-voltage insulation technology。This course provides basic professional knowledge oriented to industrial applications for undergraduates majoring in electric power and energy,Expand students’ knowledge of interdisciplinary fields,Develop the skills and abilities that students should possess when facing future challenges in multiple fields。
