Thoughts about studying abroad，Originally triggered by a foreign language。I remember a young and promising English teacher mentioned to me that his tutor was proficient when he was studying abroad at the University of Sydney6 foreign languages，This touched me deeply，So I secretly made up my mind，I will also learn another foreign language in the future。A chance，Second semester of freshman，I met an authoritative language training institution，So I decided to sign up to learn German，This is also the beginning of my journey to study abroad。
三、Determined to cross the ocean
It’s not that I haven’t thought about studying in China，After all, there is also Tsinghua University in China、A great school like Zhejiang University，The real decision to study abroad is at the end of the sophomore year，I had been learning German for a year and a half at that time，Getting better at this language，At the same time during this year and a half，I got to know RWTH Aachen University, which is stronger than Tsinghua University, through the opportunity of learning German，And learn about this school through multiple channels，Finally I saw the strength of RWTH Aachen University over other schools，So I chose RWTH Aachen as my university with a very clear minddream school，In order to get the offer smoothly，I also hired a professional application team to help me，Later, the teacher gave me advice，I decided to apply for ETH Zurich, which is also a famous European school, on the basis of RWTH Aachen University，And my journey to prepare for studying abroad has also begun。
四、Stick to the mountains and never relax
(1)Is German difficult?
It’s really hard to tell the truth，Especially when you are faced with a language that you have never encountered before and is so difficult，This feeling is particularly profound。From phonetic symbols to pronunciation，From semantics to syntax，From simple sentences to long and difficult sentences，From slow listening to double speed listening，Each item requires repeated practice after class，Everyone knows，Many people decide to learn German every year，But there are very few people who can persevere。Take all the courses from the beginning to the final graduation，My total study hours are750h, lasted for more than two years, but in this 750Outside of academic hours，It’s more about practicing this unfamiliar language repeatedly after my own class，Without these, we would never be able to reach today’s level。
(2)Do you still need to prepare well for English?
The answer is yes，And learning English in this situation is terrible，Because German and English belong to the same language family，Have the same ancestors，Hence very easy to confuse。I learned about it during the summer vacation of my sophomore year，The electrical majors in both schools are taught in English and have extremely high English requirements，So I had to stop German and start preparing for IELTS andGRE，This also caused my gradually improving German to fall into the abyss again。
(3)The hard-working junior year
If I were to say which year in college impressed me the most，I choose junior year。I gave everything I had this year，Suffered from failure，Also laughed in success。I spent almost all my sophomore summer vacation studying German，The only chance to go home is before summer school starts10in days。In order to improve your professional capabilities，I took advantage of the National Day holiday to participate in the flexible DC transmission research project based on voltage source converter organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as the team leader，Finally received a recommendation letter from the tutor。I rushed back to school after the project was over，After a brief German course，He devoted himself to the preparation for IELTS，But the heavy class work and professional course study continue to squeeze my time，As monitor，Personal Scholarship，Class Evaluation，Poor students and a series of other tasks are waiting for me to handle，At the same time, in order to ensureGPA，I have to invest more time in professional courses，Time was so tight that I had to give up applying for a personal scholarship in order to prepare materials for class evaluation。Due to lack of preparation time，I only got 6 in the IELTS test at the end of the year.5Points score，And because the interval between IELTS and the final exam is too close，The professional course exams this semester are not ideal either，GPA dropped by 0.5fenduo。Facing various failures and difficulties，Facing an increasingly tight preparation time，The only thing I can do is forget the failure，Strive forward and try harder。Only two days after the final exam，I used my winter vacation time to invest in itPreparing for GRE，I know that this exam is particularly critical for me，Must get the ideal score in one test，Otherwise it will definitely affect your application for schools，Obviously the tight time limit does not allow me to make any more mistakes。Even though I was busy, I didn’t finish the question bank，But hard work pays off，I got a 3 in the GRE exam in April of that year19+3.0’s good results，Also improved again in the final exam of the last semesterGPA，This doubles my confidence。Use the free summer vacation of junior year，Completed the second IELTS test，Finally achieved a total score of 7.0, single subject6.0+ good results.
(4)Are other things important?
As we all know, the most important thing for studying abroad isGPA and language。But in order to enrich the resume and motivation letter，I use the little remaining time to participate in various competitions，And actively strive for scholarships every academic year。I won the first, second and third class scholarship for outstanding students of Shandong University during my four years of college，Qingdao Bank Scholarship，And won the Academician Xue Yusheng Scholarship for two consecutive years，Won the school’s outstanding cadre for three consecutive years，Honorary title of outstanding league member of the school。In competition，I also actively strive for various awards，Won the first-class completion of the national college student innovation and entrepreneurship technology project，Provincial Second Prize and National Third Prize in Mathematics Competition，Power Cup Excellence Award, etc.，Won the second prize in both the Mobile Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Shandong University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition。These awards are insignificant，But it is also an attitude that I am striving for。
