The "Expert Forum" of the School of Electrical Engineering held a lecture on the relationship between electricity and magnetism

March 12 afternoon,The 39th academic lecture series of "Educated Forum" of the School of Electrical Engineering was held in Lecture Hall 109。Professor of School of Electrical Engineering, Shandong University、PhD supervisor Han Xueshan was invited to give a lecture on the theme of "Discipline Foundation of Electrical Engineering: The Relationship between Electricity and Magnetism",Students from all grades actively participated。

Han Xueshan first used examples in life to guide students to learn and pay attention to common electromagnetic phenomena。He said,Electricity and magnetism are the subject foundation and professional core of electrical engineering,Proficient in electromagnetic knowledge、A correct understanding of the relationship between electricity and magnetism is particularly important for professional learning。For issues related to electromagnetism,The challenges he faces in today’s industry development、Automation concept and development process、Proposed thoughts and suggestions on control professional theory and other aspects,And discuss with students how to adapt to university life、Learn the knowledge of electricity and magnetism and have cordial exchanges。

Han Xueshan specifically explained the relationship between electricity and magnetism from four aspects: "the discovery of electrical and magnetic phenomena", "electromagnetic effect", "the discovery of electromagnetic induction" and "the establishment of electromagnetic field theory"。In the discovery of electrical and magnetic phenomena,He introduced Gray、Franklin、Cullen et al.’s research,Vividly displays the results of scientists’ early observations and experiments。From Oersted’s discovery of the magnetic effect of electric current to Ampere laying the foundation of electrodynamics,From the discovery of Ohm’s law to Gauss’s research on the earth’s magnetic field,Scholars’ exploration of electricity and magnetism is gradually making connections。Subsequently,He combined Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction、The theory of Henry and Lenz,Tell us the discovery process of magnetism and electricity in easy-to-understand language。Last lecture,Han Xueshan explained Maxwell’s equations to the students、The importance of research results such as Hertz’s discovery of the existence of electromagnetic waves,ReappearanceThe wonderful process of gradually establishing the electromagnetic field theory,To complete this lectureNo.。The fascinating explanation inspired students’ interest in electromagnetic learning,Thundering applause。
